KHON2 - Waikīkī Spam Jam returns with food, fun and a mission to give back
HONOLULU (KHON2) — Waikīkī is gearing up for one of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic food festivals as the annual Waikīkī Spam Jam returns, transforming Kalākaua Avenue into a lively street celebration filled with creative Spam-inspired dishes, local vendors and live entertainment.
Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to line the streets to sample unique bites from some of Hawaiʻi’s favorite restaurants while enjoying the festive block-party atmosphere.
But Spam Jam is more than just a celebration of Hawaiʻi’s love for Spam—it’s also an opportunity to support an important cause. Organizers are encouraging the community to give back to Hawaiʻi Foodbank, as 1 in 3 households across the islands are currently facing food insecurity. The event highlights how food, culture and community can come together to make a meaningful difference for local families in need.
Right now, donations can make an even bigger impact thanks to a $25,000 matching opportunity provided by the SJ Foundation and Southwest Airlines, meaning every dollar donated can go twice as far.
